Progeria is the extremely rare disease, accelerated aging in the sufferers. It was discovered in the beginning of 20th century and during many years it was a real enigma for many generations of the doctors. At last, they concluded, that it has connected with a genetic mutation, but the exact etiologic of these disease isn’t available yet. The modern medicine supposes that one of the major factors, causing Progeria, is incest.
The name of disease derives from the Greek word “Geraios”, that means “old”.
Progeria has two major syndromes: Hutchinson-Gilford Progeria, especially characterized for children and Verner syndrome, recrudescent in the age of seventeen-eighteen. The life duration of those who suffers with each syndrome lasts from 20 to 40. And the kids, obsessed with this disease resemble very old people. The reason of their death is heart attack and dysfunction of the organs.
The modern medicine isn’t able to resist this disease and regress it.
